About Sri Lanka

The teardrop-shaped island of Sri Lanka is located at the southern tip of India and is surrounded by the Indian Ocean. The country is blessed with the most wonderful and varied scenery: from lush mountainous jungle terrain, to vivid green tea plantations and beautiful beaches.

As a tourist destination, Sri Lanka truly has it all: tropical beaches, glorious mountain terrain, verdant tea plantations, diverse wildlife, sensational food and colourful culture. The country’s coasts are tropical with palm-fringed beaches and charming towns such as Galle and Bentota. The cooler heart of the country is largely mountainous, and this is where visitors will find the tea plantations and architectural reminders of the British colonial era. The national parks of Yala and Willpattu are home to abundant wildlife, including elephant, leopard, dear, buffalo and monkey. Most visitors tend to stay for a couple of weeks, combining a beach stay with either the tea plantations or a stint at one of the national parks. There are other areas of interest however: the capital Colombo has its fair share of history and culture to discover. Also in the far north of the country there are ancient ruins to discover at Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa and Dambulla.

The range of accommodation on the island is rich and varied - with everything from luxury boutique hotels, to eco-lodges and exquisite fully serviced villas to choose from. Whether travelling as a family or on your honeymoon, we can help plan your perfect escape to Sri Lanka.
